We like watching movies, it is a great past time for us. I watched a movie the other day called Field of Dreams starring Kevin Costner. Kevin plays a college educated man turned farmer. He lives is Iowa with his wife and little girl, then one day while out in the field with his corn all around him he hears this mysterious voice, almost a whisper, telling him to “Build it and he will come”. Great line. Well Kevin tries to ignore this

voice, thinking it may all be in his head But he keeps having this feeling that he must do something.

Eventually the voice is persistent and he turns around and cuts down a major part of his field and builds this baseball field in the middle of nowhere. His friends think that he has lost his mind, his wife is supportive and is in love with him. Then one day, his daughter comes into the room and tells him that there is a man ...

      • in his field. The man in the field is a ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson, one of the eight men who was charged with blowing the Cubs World series and was ultimately banned from baseball.

Well Kevin works up a friendship with this ghost and only he, his wife and daughter can see him and the other old players that are invited to the field to play ball again. During the course of the movie, the voice turns into a dream and he goes on this

trip across country to Boston to meet a former radical writer from the sixties, James Earl Jones, and he convinces him to return to Iowa with him.

Really a nice movie, it takes you back to believe in more than material goods, like Jones states toward the end of the movie, Baseball is forever. It is a nice family movie and I think that you would enjoy it.
