  • The entire defense, which is one of the best defenses to ever stay together for so long, had to suffer minimal to no offense from a team that couldn't even keep them off the field
  • They could have hired anyone with any offensive experience and lended some aid to that team which was in such need of it

Recently let go from his head coaching position for the Baltimore Ravens, coach Brain Billick is the most deserving head coach released this season. Regarded as an “offensive genius” his Ravens team managed to be among the bottom of the offensive production head for every year he was coaching, including their Super Bowl win over the Gaints XXXV.

Never in the history of the National Football League has a coach let so much talent go to

waste without capitalizing on it. The entire defense, which is one of the best defenses to ever stay together for so long, had to suffer minimal to no offense from a team that couldn’t even keep them off the field.

In my opinon, Brian Billick should have been let go three years ago. The Ravens ownership can do better than him. They could have hired anyone with any offensive experience and lended some aid to that ...

      • team which was in such need of it. The thing I don’t understand is, how did one Super Bowl win buy him that much time?

It was painfully obvious just the year following their Super Bowl victory that Billick wasn’t cut out to coach an offense. You’ve seen teams explode with it ever since. The Rams, The Colts, The Patriots… all heavy offensive teams. And the worst part, the Ravens are in the AFC where you pretty

much need to outscore opponents or you’re done already. It’s just a sad fact of football life.

If you don’t have what it takes, maybe you should step down on your own. Now Baltimore’s defense is old and tired, they’ll probably never reach the playoffs again for ten years. I, for one, am happy that he is out of there. Let’s get some new blood in Baltimore. Maybe it’s not too late, but I’m afraid that it is.
