Front Royal, Virginia, where I was born and raised. We don’t have a lot of great attractions, but we have one of the most beautiful places to visit on earth. The Skyline Drive.

The Skyline Drive is a wonderful, 105 mile stretch of mountain road. It takes you through some of the

most beautiful parts of the appalachian mountain range.

You can enter the drive on a few major entry points: Front Royal ( U.S. Highway 340), Thorton Gap (U.S. Highway 211), Rockfish Gap (Interstate 64) or Swift Run Gap (U.S. Highway 33)

I love the drive in Autumn. I’ve been visiting the drive for ...

      • twenty years to watch the leaves change colors. It’s amazingly beautiful and you can witness wildlife in its natural habitat.

Right as you enter through Front Royal, they have a trail which you can walk on for free. No tour guide needed, you can take a few bags and walk the 5-mile

trail to the first overlook, where it then crosses the road and continues on if you wish.

Each year we get flooded here in town with people from cities who wish to change their scenery. If you’re tired of looking at buildings and subways all year, stop in Front Royal and check out some nature.
