The anime series “FLCL,” short for “Fooly Cooly” or “Furi Kuri,” is an artistic amazement. The storyline is a little unclear, being a three-way battle between main characters, but deliciously abstract and humorous.

The plot’s hyperactive pace, and features that catagorize the series as anything from comedy, drama, romance, sci-fi or to philosophy, makes it extremely

      unique from other anime series.

Though FLCL is a 6-episode series, it’s extremely satisfying.

The animation changes style with each episode, perfect to suit each tone of each episode.

The fifth episode is arguably the most spectacular.

The cartoony animation style of the episode create unique, stunning and even hilarious the gun/chase scenes.

      • these amazing features, “FLCL” also has a rocking sound track.

All the songs are japanese indie/rock [and all by the band “The Pillows”], and are incorporated to the animation flawlessly.

An example of this is in the fifth episode, when main female charcter Haruko comes flying on her guitar to the intro guitar riff of

        a song [”Blues Drive Monster”].

Another amazing song incorporation was in the final episode, where Haruko, and co-main character Naota literally rode on a vespa scooter into the “climax” of “FLCL’s” plot, to a powerful intro on the song “Last Dinosaur.

” “FLCL” is a abstract spectacle that’s sure to intrigue viewers, even those who are not anime fans.
