Historical fiction is a genre that I usually stay away from. I find that the author usually gets carried away depicting history with painful accuracy. I usually find historical fiction quite dry. Then I started Four Steps To Death.

Four Steps To Death is quite possibly the best historical fiction book ever written. Taking place

in W.W.II, during the battle of Stalingrad, this book tells the story of two soldiers from opposing armies and a young boy who is caught in the middle.

A lot of the reason this story is so enthralling is due to the accuracy of the information that is presented. The author did extensive ...

      • research before writing this novel and it shows. The operating of the tanks, the food and food rationing and many of the battles are historically correct.

While the story is presented in a accurate fashion, the overall story does not suffer. This novel has enthralling story telling from both sides of the battle as

well as from the point of view of a child. There is also plenty of exiting action based around the battle of Stalingrad to keep the book going at a fast pace. There is tank battles, infantry and even sniper warfare.

Mixing intriguing story development with thrilling battle scenes, this novel is the best of it’s kind.
