Broken Flower by V. C. Andrews is a powerful book about a young girl experiencing adolescence way before her time.

She had to cope with the sudden changes in her body and the conflicts within her family. While the grandmother first started off like an evil witch, she later shows her true side and feelings.

It is not her fault that she has become this cold, harsh, old woman. It is because of her past that have caused her to become so.

Her character is the backbone for everyone to lean on. She presence brings a feeling of security but at the same time fear.

      Without her, the ...

      • family would have fallen apart. Therefore, she plays a key role in this novel.

The main character, Jordan, had to face many issues and temptations with her growing body. Her brother, Ian, was there to help.

However, their closeness to each other gives the impression of incest. The truth was, according to Ian,

that he was experimenting on his little sister for his research.

I, on the other hand, believe there is something more to this. At the end of the novel, I was left hanging in dispense of what will happen in the sequel.

The theme and events in this novel is so enticing that I couldn’t put it down.
