Gia is a movie about the deceased supermodel, Gia Carangi. Gia is played by Angelina Jolie, and while I am not a personal fan of Angelina Jolie, she does a marvelous performance.

Gia is such a troubled soul, from the very start.

Gia is not only a smart talking, fast moving girl with all kinds of hidden agendas, but she is confused and often very grouchy.

is discovered and then taken into a modeling agency and promoted.

Gia’s look and attitude are hard but this gutsy attitude is also what makes her such a good model.

Gia continues to gain fame and fortune, but her personal life is a shambles as she runs from person to person.

Gia also gets way deep into the drug scene, and you see her going to very ...

      • tough parts of town to buy drugs.

Gia is a frightening film because it is real and people really go through these types of addictions and problems.

I feel sorry for Gia because although she creates many of her personal problems, she also has been handed a crummy deck of cards.

For example, when she is sick and needs help, she asks her mother if she can

        move in.

Her mother, played by the lovely Mercedes Ruhl, tells her no.

How awful is that? If Gia received that kind of non-attention when she was growing up, it is no wonder she had such low self esteem.

Gia also shows that no matter how much money and celebrity you have, if you are not happy, you will remain miserable.

Gia is not a movie for children.
