Now that Tony Sparano has been named Miami Dolphins’ head coach, I have to question the decision a bit.

Not that Bill Parcells doesn’t know what he’s doing when he hired his former assistant coach, it’s just Sparano might be a bit overrated because he really hasn’t accomplished a whole heck of a

      lot, even for an assistant.

Let’s see, with the exception of the Cowboys, every other team he’s been an assistant on failed to win more than 8 games. In fact, the Cowboys themselves managed to make the postseason both under Parcells and current head coach Wade Phillips but were 0-3 during that time.

He did have success as a college head coach. But, that was for a Division II school so I don’t see that really being a plus for him since the offense and defenses run at that level are

like night and day compared to the NFL. Plus, his mentor at that level was Chris Palmer and we all know how Palmer did as the Cleveland Browns head coach.

Sparano should be able to improve on a 1-15 season. But, I don’t see him being the guy to take the Dolphins to the playoffs.
