Where The Heart Is is a lovely little movie about a girl who has a baby in an Oklahoma Wal Mart. What a place to start off in the world! Natalie Portman’s character, Novalee, goes into Wal Mart to buy slippers and when she comes back out to the parking lot, her boyfriend

has driver off and abandoned her.

Because Novalee is young, hugely pregnant and naive, she resorts to living in the Wal Mart until her baby is born.

Course, everyone ends up finding out she is living in Wal Mart when her baby is born, and the real story begins there.

      Novalee and her ...

      • baby are local heroes and everyone loves them.

Novalee begins working at Wal Mart and pays back all that she owes for eating food, wearing clothes and all the other things she took while finding safe refuge in Wal Mart.

In spite of the silly plot that I find totally unbelievable, Where The

Heart Is makes you think about people being good and loving each other, and when times were simpler.

Where The Heart Is reminds us that there are still good people out there who enjoy helping each other.

Natalie Portman is awesome as Novalee.

I love Natalie Portman and this is definitely one of her best performances.
