Know first, that I am a coffee freak as is my wife & teenage son. At present, the household’s main brew station used is a reliable Mr.

      Besides the Mr.

C, we have had Black & Decker, Krups, Cuisinart, Farberware & various others that have done the job, but hardly

brew the magical mug that puts the smile on your face like you see on TV.

However, that smile can be had.

When time permits the old aluminum drip pot comes out, water is boiled in a kettle then poured into the top of the pot where it slowly drips through ...

      • to the coffee grounds and finally into the small 6-cup Foley pot.

You have all seen these old time pots and probably have forgotten how good coffee tastes out of them.

My 15-year old coffee hound has dubbed this pot, The Silver Bullet.

I had to look pretty hard with these

old eyes to find the label, Foley-Manitowoc, WI at the bottom.

This proves that in today’s world looks & convenience rules, but if you want a really good cup of coffee, then dig out that old aluminum coffee pot.

In this case, it’s the Foley Drip Pot i.

I would like to know how to remove the discoloration from the coffee pot aluminun . I put it in the dishwasher with a foil pan and it turned a dirty gray. I hope you have a solution Thank you, Lisa
    Richard says :

A few years ago govt. regs. required auto dishwasher detergent makers change their formulas. This change caused aluminum to turn to a dirty gray.
    Galega says :

Mix water with white vinegar and boil the solution in the Aluminium coffee pot that has discolored. After boiling for up to 5 minutes, turn off the stove. Let the solution get cooled. Throw it away and wash the pot with normal water. This is a simple way of getting rid of discoloration of any aluminium pot (which is quite normal and doesn’t happen just because of using a detergent to wash it off).
