Every year, as part of the city’s fiesta celebration, the City of San Pablo in Laguna, Philippines holds a week long festival called The Coco Festival.

The Coco Festival is held to celebrate the City Fiesta and to better promote the city and its main produce, the coconut. Through out the festival, you’ll

see coconuts everywhere. Offices along the main avenues are decorated with coconut from leaves to barks and even shells and husks. It starts 1 week before the city fiesta which is on the 15th of January each year.

Events and activities for the week are all (well almost) coconut related but the hightlight ...

      • of the week long event is the Street Dancing Competition and Float Parade. Hundreds of tourists from all over the country come every year to witness the event. Tourists from other countries also come to see the colorful Street Dancing Competition.

The week long event is ended with a traditional fireworks display which

is sponsored by the local government and the events are featured at SanPabloCity.net (news and updates too).

So, if you are in the country at around that time then why not visit San Pablo City and be part of the celebration. San Pablo City is only a 2 hour drive from Metro Manila.
