Thelma & Louise is the ultimate chick flick. Played by Geena Davis (Thelma) and Susan Sarandon (Louise), you could not ask for better acting.

Girlfriends Thelma and Louise have a weekend getaway trip planned.

They head off for some rest and relaxation but on the way make a stop in a honky tonk.

      Thelma is

a rather repressed housewife who listens to her husband and waits on him hand and foot.

      He is overbearing and distant.

Thelma decides that since she is on vacation, she is entitled to a little bit of fun.

While dancing in the honky tonk, Thelma drinks a little too much and ends up getting raped ...

      • in the parking lot.

Fortunately for her, Louise follows her out and stops the crime.

When the cowboy raping Thelma gets rude with Louise, she shoots him.

That is when the story really begins! Thelma and Louise are suddenly on the run for Mexico because they feel they cannot report the shooting to the police.

Evidently Louise has had problems with a rape case before and she is afraid to deal with the police again.

The pair of women stay drunk and pull all kinds of pranks during their outlaw run for the border.

Very well acted, very believable and definitely a movie you will want to watch again.

        Not for the children!
