I understand this is just a remake of a movie that was originally produced in 1963 that starred Peter Sellers as the idiotic but kind hearted Inspector Clouseau.

As I see it, this is another one histerically funny movie that has the character combination of Mr.

Bean and Johny English but it was not

Rowan Atkinson who played the role of the protagonist.

It was indeed another great comedian Steve Martin.

I really liked the style of Steve Martin as distinguished from Rowan Atkinson the way he plays a kind hearted person who is at the same time, honest to goodness to his profession but ...

      • only a bit conceited and blind about how stupid he looks in the eyes of other people.

The manner of imitating the English speaking accent of a French man (as what he is supposed to be in the movie) is really funny especially in the part when Clouseau gave the American accent teacher

a very hard and trying time to let him say “I would like to buy a hamburger” in a flawless American accent.

This movie was directed by Shawn Levy.

Steve Martin co-starred with Kevin Kline as Chief Inspector Dreyfus, Jean Reno as his loyal subordinate Ponton and Beyonce Knowles as Xania.
