If you’ve ever read a fairy tale, you’ve most certainly read or heard the tales of the brothers Grimm! This is a wonderful movie to see! It is exciting and funny and sad………. lots and lots of drama, here!

The tale starts with the younger Grimm brother having sold the family cow for magic beans, when he was sent to sell the cow to get money to pay a doctor to save his little sister. He believed the magic beans would make his sister well, in this version, and he was so happy…….

until he got home, and his sister died, his

brother beat him up, and never let him forget………. ’Magic BEANS!’.

The tale then zips up to 15 years later, when the brothers make use of the country folk’s beliefs in magic and evil tales. They make their money by getting rid of evil that doesn’t exist, and get paid a lot by the town’s people for doing it.

They bring their own ‘tricks’ to ’show’ the evil things, and to ‘rid’ the area of the evil and scary monsters and such. When the younger brother voices how he does not like to do this, the elder brother yells at him,

      • “magic beans!”……….

and the younger brother so wrought with guilt, goes along with the schemes. They are discovered as fakes, and nearly put to death, when the French occupied Germany.

But, they have one chance to live. They must rid one town of the horrible ‘whatever’ that is stealing all their children! They are sure they can do this.

During this time, Hansel and Gretal, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Snow White and even more tales are brought into the story in a really different way than ever heard before. Both brothers nearly die, on this REAL task.

        But, as often

as the elder brother says he hates his brother for letting his little sister die, he comes through for him in the end. This is an exciting tale and probably too scary for children whom are not yet in their teens.

Adults will love the tale, as it is ‘almost’ familiar, but NOT! The ending is very, very good. I cannot tell the ending, or I will ruin the whole thing for you! Rent or buy this DVD and see for yourself, the horrors that are in the Enchanted Forest, the evil witch, the kidnapped children……….

and what is their fate? Oh, you will enjoy this one!
