Its now week 11 of the NFL season and the Carolina Panthers are trying to decide who to start at quarterback. The fact they have to think about it really makes me doubt David Carr will be in the league much longer.

When he was quarterbacking for the Houston

Texans, Carr had an excuse for being a failure. You cant take a beating like he did and be successful in the league. But, the Panthers are a team that is a regular playoff contender. And, even though he is technically the back up, he should be able ...

      • to have some success with the team.

Its really sad when the team signs an over-the-hill player like Vinnie Testaverde and he outplays you. You cant argue that youre still learning the system when Testaverde was winning after only three days of practice.

The biggest concern I have about Carr

is the concussions hes suffered recently. It seems, whenever quarterbacks start suffering those, they become a big problem later in their career too (like they did with Steve Young and Troy Aikman). If thats the case, Carr might be better off retiring than trying to prove he can play.
