LA to Ensenada
  • The Kayak tour was interesting as we paddled through kelp beds and let our guide educate us about the history of the island and it's wild life
  • Definitely one of the highlights of the trip
  • We were just slowly guided around by the hand along some very boring flat dirt paths in a group of Yamaha Rhinos

My family and I recently took a 4 night cruise that had two ports of call. Santa Catalina Island and then to Ensenada Mexico. We had a cabin towards the back of the boat (U231 in fact) Two levels up from the bottom. The most remember-able parts of the cruise were the fantastically fancy food at dinner and the absurdly loud manufacturing-type noises that seemed to

eminate from behind and blwo us. A sort of “whhhhhhrrr BAM….whhhhhhrrr BAM” as if they were pressing lisence plates or something equally violent. The rest of the cruise was very enjoyable, good shows, good food. Just be careful not to spend too much money on the shore excursions. The vast majority of them are rip-offs.

For example, my family took the Zodiac tour around Catalina,

      • the Kayak tour around Catalina and the Mini Jeep tour in Ensenada.

The Kayak tour was interesting as we paddled through kelp beds and let our guide educate us about the history of the island and it’s wild life.

The Zodiac tour was much actually also supposed to be about the wildlife and history of the island, but as the Zodiac was able to travel much farther then

our little Kayaks, we still covered much more ground and saw some real wildlife, including two bald eagles. Definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

The Mini Jeep tour on the other hand was a complete bust. We were just slowly guided around by the hand along some very boring flat dirt paths in a group of Yamaha Rhinos. It was also interestingly the most expensive excursion.
