Everyone wishes they could go back in time to straighten out family disfunctions. But as this movie shows, if you aren’t too careful, things could turn out worse than before.

This tight, well written script by Bob Zemeckis and Bob Gale, who teamed up previously on 1941, was a joy to watch from the beginning. Michael J. Fox, fresh from

popularity as Alex P. Keaton on Family Ties, was lively and engaging, carrying his character Marty McFly through many tough situations in this movie. I personally don’t think anyone else from that time could have taken on the role and made it the kind of success Fox made with his portrayal. This movie enjoyed great success because of his ...

      • talent.

Of course, Doc Brown was a treat. Those who experienced Christopher Lloyd as the Reverend Jim in Taxi, and The Calico Kid in Best of the West were already fans of this great actor, and knew his eccentric talent at bringing oddball characters to life. The hyperactive Doc Brown was the perfect partner to Fox’s McFly. They reminded me

of brothers or best friends, getting each other in and out of tight squeezes.

If I were stuck back in time, I would want a Doc Brown helping me get back home. And to be surrounded by this great a cast as Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, and Thomas F Wilson as Biff Tannen, I would take my time getting back home.
