Way before the Spider-Man movies ever existed, director Sam Raimi made a film called The Evil Dead. This film, in no way, is a blockbuster hit. Evil Dead is a classic bad movie, which was meant to scare, yet at the same time, humor.

      The movie stars a young

man named Ash, played by Bruce Campbell, and his gang of friends from Detroit, spending the night in a cabin outside of Morristown, Tennessee. The group of five college kids uncover the ancient book inside of their cabin called “the Book of the Dead.” After Ash reads the book, all hell breaks loose, as the dead rise and start killing the kids one by one.

This is considered an exploitation film because of all of the extreme gore and low budget detail put into all of the film. In fact, it’s hard to believe someone like Sam ...

Raimi would make a film like this, and then later make something as epic as the Spider-Man movie franchise. Each and every prop looks horribly fake and hilariously bad, yet that’s the beauty of loving the film.

Overall, I’d say this is one terrifying, yet hilarious, experience. The movie

is built on dark humor and production errors, but hey, this is still considered a classic horror movie. This is honestly one of my top ten favorite horror movies of all time. I recommend seeing this if you’re a big fan of horror movies, b-movies, or exploitation films.
