      The swedish filmmaker Roy Andersson debuted with the incredibly successful A Love Story back in the late 1960s. His next film Giliap was very criticised and that made Roy heartbroken, so he stopped making

      feature films for almost 30 years.

      Then came World of Glory and Something has happened rather close to each other.

      Both were critically acclaimed, but I find that strange because they are both very similar stylistically to Giliap.

      World of Glory is about an ordinary swedish man who tells us about his own life in tabloids.

      monologue is very strict, not as someone usually would talk.

      The sarcasm and social criticism is easy to read out of this, and although the man’s life is rather tragic I can’t help but

      laugh about how silly that “every day life” looks.

      World of Glory is probably the most interesting swedish film since Bergman or Widerberg’s greatest days.

      It was later followed up by the similar Songs from the second floor.
