  • However for a scary movie this wasn't bad, there were a few good lines in it, the center of the small group of people hiding out in the attic reminded me of Anne Frank's family cowering in an overfcrowded attic while the Nazi's searched the homes below, just my take on symbolisim

My son and I have a tradition, we go to the movies at least once a week, it is out time together aways from everyone else. This week he talked me into going to see the moview 30 days of Night. This movie was a twist on the typical vampire movie. The theme centered around a small town in Alaska, the furthermost town in the US that once a year

has no sunlight for 30 complete days. Most of the small town people evacuate and leave during this dismal period of life, leaving a skelton crew of around 150 souls within the town.

Well as you can expect thirty days of darkness would be a gold mine to the creative vampire, why hadn’t he or she thought of this before? Going to a place where they could feast in ...

      • peace for thirty days without the slightest fear of sunrise to destroy them. Corny to say the least.

However for a scary movie this wasn’t bad, there were a few good lines in it, the center of the small group of people hiding out in the attic reminded me of Anne Frank’s family cowering in an overfcrowded attic while the Nazi’s searched the homes below, just my take on symbolisim.

The hero of the movie, the county sheriff, does an ultimate sacrafice to save his estranged wife, turning himself into a vampire, to give her time to reach safety and then choosing not to live an eternal life without her and thus choosing to die with the morning sunrise on the 31st day.

All in all it wasn’t a bad movie, not a lot of gore, and it moved rather quickly.
