I am really really disappointed that I got so excited before this film came out. I thought, judging from the previews, that this movie was going to touch on an aspect of vampirism which had been unexplored in previous films.

The concept of there being 30 days of complete darkness wherein citizens are cut off from

the rest of the world is scary enough.

Knowing that they’re trapped with ancient creatures would have been even more horrifying if the direction and acting had been better.

There were too many holes in the plot.

And the movie was so claustrophobic that it became boring.

I often got tired of ...

      • watching the dwindling group of survivors run from one building to the next.

There were no real scary scenes.

And the vampires, although quite threatening looking, were not as frightening after seeing them up close so many times over.

The same scare tactics were used in almost every attack.

        And I got

the sneaking suspicion that directors took cues from the “28 Days/Weeks Later” films as far as vampire movement.

        They were extremely fast.

And the aerial shots of the devastation in the town is almost EXACTLY like the “28 Days/Weeks…” movies.

        (Complete rip-off.

) My advice would be to wait until the DVD release for this one.
