The funny thing about this place is - it is called 7 sisters because there were 7 sisters in the family and that is how it got named. This tavern is in the middle of absolutely no wear. There are nothing but corn fields and hay fields around this place. The property has a very well manicured lawn. She has several lovely perenial gardens on the lawn with small shrubs framing them. One garden next to the building has all kinds of aromatic plants - roses, lavender, mint and basil. Then she has a betterfly garden with all kinds of colorful flowers for the butterflies and the hummingbirds. Then she has a regular veggie garden which the last time I saw was just lush. The property is framed by a split rail fence. Since she is in Amish country there is a small hitching post. The Amish come down to pick up odds and ends, like butter and stuff like that.

building itself has the bar in the front and the living quarters in the back. I have never seen the living quarters but the bar is really long. It is a really long bar with probably 20 bar stools. The bar itself is just a plain black top that has seen lots of abuse. People have carved on it and lit booze on it and god onl knows what else. The back bar is all done is a dark wood and looks homemade. There are built in shelves on the wall for the liquor bottles. She has a real variety of liquor on the shelves. I’ll bet she has 60 bottles on the shelves. The cooler is way at one end of the bar. So, every time she needs to get a cold bottle of something she has to run all the way to the other end. That and the cooler has windows like at the grocery store and I ...

      • hate that. The bar stools have backs on them and I like that. I like bloody mary’s and her bloody marys come from a mix. She has lacy kitchen type curtains in the bar - what is that - it looks odd.

The tavern also serves chicken, sandwiches and pizza. She makes her own chicken and it is really tasty. She is a good cook. The sandwiches are not premade and wrapped in plastic - they are made fresh. It is elements like this that makes the place. The chicken is wonderful - 1/2 chicken all dark meat - it is enough food for 2 people. It comes with a large baked potato and a big salad with homemade french salad dressing. Yum.

The bathrooms are spic and span to the max as is the rest of the bar. She is not afraid of work and she really keeps the place clean and the property in top notch condition. The floors and

made of square tiles of different colors. It creates a problem when you open up the door to the bar. You can see she has pounded it down several times.

At the time the sweet corn gets ripe, she has a corn roast. All you have to do is buy your drinks and she supplies the corn. The couple of times I was there it was a zoo. There were more than 150 people and that bit of giving gained her plenty of money in the beer department.

She is a nice bartender. She is right there when you need a drink and you don’t have to pound your glass on the bar like a dog begging for food. Her boyfriend tends bar too, but he is a real flirt. I don\’t think she likes this and when there are good looking women in the bar he is all over them monopolizing their time and not paying attention to the other people at the bar.
