This place is in the old part of town right by the railroad tracks. There are older homes around it and one big old storage building. Most of the tavern is covered with the tar paper like covering that looks like brick. The place is two stories and the 2nd story has rooms for rent. I have never been up there, but I can just imagine what that must look like.

The parking for this place is behind the building or out on the street. The lot in the back is just granite and dirt in the back and when it rains it gets kind of muddy back there. It is located in a lower class neighborhood so you never know what you are going to see with your car when you come out from the tavern or the restaurant. I don’t know

how big the property is but it looks like the building is almost next to the sidewalk and the driveway to the lot is on the right and lot line on the left with building next to it and scrubby shrubs in the back of the parking lot. It is not much to look at.

The bar, which is in the front of the building is old too. The back bar has the old-fashioned vertical pole circular lights with the light source behind it. Under where the bottles were was a horizontal light thing also. It is really difficult to explain without a picture. The woodwork is all dark or black. It was so dark in there that you couldn’t tell. There were coolers under the bar that had mirrors on them - there were 6 of them under the back bar. There are ...

      • 3 beer taps with the decorative tap top. The bar has an old wood floor that you can see just how worn it is. The most use is in front of the big u shaped bar and the sides don’t near have as much. From the look of it I think the floor might be sagging in the middle. There are several bartenders that come in and I really don’t know any of them. They seem to be college students. They do know how to mix a drink. The clientel seems to be college students too. The bathrooms are really small. Thankfully, there were a men’s and woman’s bathroom. The windows were the tall narrow ones. During the winter they have plastic over the windows.

The little restaurant in the back is just a delapidated old hole. But the

food is good. It is a u shaped sit at the counter place with screwed to the floor circular stools. Same old tall windows and floors. There was one cook and one waitress - the waitress work a blue dress with a white apron and a little white, looked like a nurses hat. I have some of the best Mac and cheese, plenty of different kinds of hot dishes. On the menu was a whole list of different kinds of sandwiches. They even serve omelets and breakfast food during lunch. It is all homemade and I really like it because it is the same kind of food I grew up with. This room at least had curtains on the windows. The counter had a laminate on it with red and white squares.

Nice place to go, but it is really old looking.
