The first feature film from Jean-Pierre Jeunet who created the lovely Amelie from Montmartre a couple of years ago and A very long engagement most recently. Delicatessen is a story about the people in an apartment

building, who seem to be some sort of cannibals. Some visitors are made aware of this, but it is not a horror film but instead told in a much more humoristic manner - a black comedy.

      • What is worth saying about it is the stunningly advanced and complexed visual style Jeunet uses, which he is later to do even more brilliantly with Children of the lost city and Amelie. The camerawork, colors
and cutting is amazingly dynamic and creates an illusion of the most powerful kind. However, the story behind it all doesn’t engage me very much and is a little bit to crazy for my own personal taste.
