I have recently upgraded my motherboard to 945GC Chipset. I was in a dilemma whether to go for ASUS or INTEL. Finally, after looking into their features carefully, i bought the ASUS motherboard.. Finally the verdict was that My choice is Excellent!!!

Asus motherboard has a micro-atx form

factor which is smaller than the Genuine Intel motherboard. It is shipped with a 3-year warranty. The BIOS has a good User Interface with Precision cooling Technology which automatically controls processor fan’s speed based on temperature. Also, the noice level of FAN is very low. It has ...

      • got a PCI-Express X16 slot, where i installed my NVidia GEForce 8500GT. The Asus motherboard also has Dual channel RAM support. This combination gave me a rocking performance. Regarding pricing level, i bought this motherboard for 3050 INR while Intel motherboard would have costed around 3500 INR-Indian
Rupee (without PCI Express x16 slot) and 4300 INR with PCI-E slot. Other performance boosting factors are 1. It has got SATA-2 support and EZ Flashing utility which recovers BIOS when crashed. It is also RoHS complaint and Vista compatible.

Overall, This motherboard gives Value more than money!!

Yes, both of these brands would be compatible, as long as they are of the supported type and sizes.

I recommend two models of memory: 2GB CORSAIR VS2GBKIT667D2. or Kingston 2GB DDR2 667 kvr667d2d4f5/2g. I have 2 computers at work with motherboard ASUS P5GC-MX and these memories go smoothly, I did compatibility tests.

It is not the brand, but the specification of the RAM that matters here. Off course, it will always be recommended to get the best brand that will be durable and give optimum hit ratio. You should look for DDR 2 (533 MHz) RAM. I would suggest you to go for Kingston. However, the choice of brands depend on you according to affordability and availability.

Both of these motherboards have similarities and differences. The Asus is an Intel and the XFX has an Nvidia chipset. The data speed on the Asus is 1333, so it’s slightly faster than the XFX which is 1033. You are not being specific about the aspects that you would like to be clarified. But, you should know that both of these motherboards would be compatible with Vista.

While selecting a motherboard, you should look for various stuffs, including processor, form factor, PCI slots and SATA, among others. Remember, a motherboard is one of the most essential parts of a computer system. It holds together many of the crucial components of a computer, including the central processing unit (CPU), memory and connectors for input and output devices. This is quite crucial for overall performance of your computer. If you ask me to suggest between these two, then I would suggest you to go for ASUS.

Hey i was wondering if this motherboard can support any 2gb Ram sticks. I want to upgrade to 4gb RAM but it only has 2 ram slots. If it can is there any recommended RAM sticks.

It won’t work with any ram sticks. They have to be DDR2. Asus does not recommend any brands in particular. Most brands should function as long as the meet the required specifications.

Would it support 800 bus speed Ram up to 4gb Ram? Thakanks.

    ReviewStream.com
    Jules Li says :

The max ram that it can support is a 2GB, which means that it wouldn’t be compatible with a 4GB.

    ReviewStream.com
    Galega says :

There isn’t any problem with 800 BUS RAM. What matters is it should be DDR2. More importantly, you will have to make some compromise with that of the storage capacity of your RAM. Lower it down as this motherboard can only support up to 2GB.

Two slots have created lots of confusion among users. ASUS has never cleared the air. The maximum supported by this RAM is that of 2 GB. You can’t put two 2 GB RAM in both slots simultaneously.
