  • When I came home and told my husband I bought the new Sony Boombox CFDF105 for our living room shelves, he laughed at me and called me old school , as if I was trying to bring in some piece of crud with no technology abilities and something that played cassette tapes
  • Several hours later, he had it all set up on our new bookshelves playing Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight and not only was he impressed, but I was impressed too
  • I had honestly bought the boombox becase I wanted somethign that could play my cd's that could sit on a shelf, not take up a ton of place, and that was offered at the very least at a semi-reasonable cost
  • It wasn't a boom box like the old school , as my husband would call it, days, but had a sleek black and silver design wiht a contemporary carrying device at the top which actually added a little pizzaz to the unit and I found it instantly appealing
  • I think we've had two friends now ask about the unit themselves and purchase their own units because they've been so captivated by the sounds produced by a boombox

When I came home and told my husband I bought the new Sony Boombox CFDF105 for our living room shelves, he laughed at me and called me “old school”, as if I was trying to bring in some piece of crud with no technology abilities and something that played cassette tapes. I was a little upset and ready to take the unit back because I figured he had no interest in having it in our house, so frustrated, I began to haul it back out to the car. To my surprise, he asked me to stop becuase he wanted to take a look at it first.

I rolled my eyes and reluctantly let him look at the box, assuming he would only minutes later be telling me to take my “old school” self back to Circuit City to return it and get something more modern. To my surprise, he opened the packaging, spent about fourty five minutes reading about the boombox, and came to me about an

hour later apologizing and saying he wanted to keep it.

I half smirked to myself, knowing that if he acutally took a few minutes to find out about this boombox, he would acutally find it rather appealing. Several hours later, he had it all set up on our new bookshelves playing Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight and not only was he impressed, but I was impressed too.

I had honestly bought the boombox becase I wanted somethign that could play my cd’s that could sit on a shelf, not take up a ton of place, and that was offered at the very least at a semi-reasonable cost. So, when I saw this model for sale at Circuit City for under eighty bucks, I checked out the dynamics and style, and quickly decided that it was exactly what I was looking for for our living room.

I liked the fact it had the digital am and fm tuning capabilities with stereo sounds, along with a dual ...

      • bass system for its cd player. Aside from that, I liked the overall style of the boombox.

It wasn’t a boom box like the “old school”, as my husband would call it, days, but had a sleek black and silver design wiht a contemporary carrying device at the top which actually added a little pizzaz to the unit and I found it instantly appealing. It was not even until after my husband set the unit up that I realized it also included a really easy to use and operate remote control and that it was capable of putting out 4.

5 watts per channel. While that means very little to me, my husband told me that’s pretty impressive for a player that I paid under a hundred bucks for.

He was also pretty impressed by the fact it had Mega Bass and Mega XPand to create a well rounded, balanced, surround sound type effect despite the fact it is, in and of itself, a solitary unit. All

in all, we have come to really enjoy our Sony far more than I had even originally expected or anticipated we would.

I think we’ve had two friends now ask about the unit themselves and purchase their own units because they’ve been so captivated by the sounds produced by a boombox. My one friend told me that our boombox had better output then her entire surround sound sytem at her house so that made me feel pretty good about our purchase overall.

To summarize, I absolutely love and adore Sony’s CFDF105. Its a perfectly sized unit to sit on a shelf, put in a kitchen, add to a bedroom, or even to place in a bathroom if you have the space.

For the price, I would almost guarantee you will be impressed with the easy to operate manual and electronic device in and of itself, and that you will be blown away by the absolutely dynamic and translucent sounds it produces. Sony outdid themselves on this one!
