In case if you don’t know what an elliptical trainer is, it is, basically, a piece of exercising equipment that you walk on. Ellipticals are different from treadmills: instead of walking on a treadbelt you use two large walking pedals. Nordictrack CX 925 Elliptical is a very solid, sturdy machine. It comes very well packaged, double boxed, with every part individually wrapped.

The assembly is not hard; the instructions are clear to follow. According to most people’s

experience, assembling the machine takes from a little over an hour to two hours. Usually, it is best to have two people working on putting it together.

The machine is large, over 6 inches long (which provides a nice, long stride) and 20 inches wide. It is also heavy. As with most heavy exercising equipment, it is recommended to place it on a mat rather than carpet or floor.

Nordictrack CX 925 has two walking pedals and two handles to use as you walk that allow you to exercise your upper body as well, at the same time. There are 6 workout programs that will automatically change the speed and resistance for you. The common recommendation for exercising is to start slow, then gradually increase the difficulty, and then have a slow cool-off time in the end.

That’s how these programs work. Overall, they are not very hard, which is good for beginners, but ...

if you are a well-trained walker who likes challenge you might want to manually increase speed & resistance. The display on the console shows time, speed, heart rate, and calories burned.

The console also has a fan, two bottle holders (not very deep), and a book holder. The book rack could have been better located: if you want to read as you workout and place a book or a magazine on it, it will block the display

and the fan. The unit is powered by 4 D batteries.

This can be viewed as both an advantage and disadvantage. Some might prefer being able to plug the machine in rather than have to buy batteries. On the other hand, since the machine is cordless you can move it around easier and have it in any part of the room.

Nordictrack CX 925 is IFIT compatible. This means that you can connect it to your computer, go to ifit. com and get special workout programs with music.
