Kid Nation is a controversial new reality show in which 40 kids are ‘left’ in a ‘ghost town’ for 40 days to survive on their own… grown-up free.

The controversy surrounds whether kids should be left in a potential Lord-of-the-Flies

situation where there are no moms and dads to tie their shoes, make dinner, or clean the bathroom for them.

I think it works! My kids loved the show and I did too. The ‘ghost town’ is more or less ...

      • of a Disneyfied set- it’s not like these kids are squatting in abandoned 19th century buildings with lead paint and broken glass.

The kids are broken into four color groups and given challenges- in the first one, they chose the

reward of seven more porta-potties over a TV! Who knew?! Maybe the kids WILL be ok on their own! We’ll have to keep watching to find out. The show runs on CBS Wednesdays at 8 and it’s worth a look!
