The Searchers, directed by John Ford, is a classic for all to see. This movie also stars John Wayne and you just can’t find star power like that anywhere else. The movie is about Ethan Edwards (John

Wayne) and his nephew, not by kin, Martin Paulie (Jeffrey Hunter) and their years of searching for niece and sister, Debbie, after she was taken by Indians who massacred the rest of her family. I do have to ...

      • say that this has probably been John Wayne’s best performance yet along with ‘The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance’ which John Ford also directed. I recommend this movie for everyone who hasn’t seen it. It is a
great movie to sit in and watch on a rainy day!

This movie also deals strongly with Edwards prejudice toward Indians. Being that Martin Paulie is actually part Cherokee; it makes the journey incredibly interesting with the tension between them.
