The National University of Singapore (NUS) has two campuses in Singapore, the Law Faculty being in the Bukit Timah Campus and all the other faculties in the Kent Ridge Campus. NUS offers a wide range of modules and NUS itself is a globally-recognized University.

NUS has several clubs and societies for undergraduates and graduates to participate in, ranging from Comic and Animation Society to the Original Music Society. More clubs and societies can be viewed at http://www.nus.edu.sg/osa/activities/svcs/societies.html. There are also several sports clubs both competitive and recreational, for example Fencing, Diving,

Wakeboarding, Golf and even Cue Sports. You may find out more about them at http://www.nus.edu.sg/osa/sports/sportsclub/abt.htm.

NUS also exercises the Bidding and Balloting system for undergraduates instead of the first-come-first-served basis most universities around the world use when signing up for modules. This means that undergraduates are all given fair and equal chances in getting modules by placing bids using points. This system, in my opinion, is far better than the fastest-fingers-first system since it prevents the server from crashing through over-usage. Hence this bidding of modules and balloting of tutorials is unique ...

      • to NUS.

In the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), undergraduates get to design their curriculum the way they want because they build their own schedule for each semester. Hence hardly two same undergraduates in FASS can have the same timetable. This encourages diversity and also one can broaden their social networks.

In addition to the canteens, there are also several fast food joints and kiosks. There are McDonalds outlets, KFC, Subway, New Zealand Ice Cream and Old Chang Kee available around campus. The canteen food is also cheap, much cheaper than if

students were to have the same meal outside of campus.

The internal shuttle buses are also efficient. One doesn’t have to wait so long for the shuttle buses at all. However, during peak times of the day, one may have to wait for the 2nd bus to arrive because the first one would usually be very full!

NUS has first-class education and students are very active in organizing activities for the other students. The clubs and societies are also expert in sourcing for internships, which are useful for the undergraduates during the holidays.
