  • Jean Vigo was one of the most beloved filmmakers of the early sound years, but unfortunately his career was way too short with only two full feature films
  • He did have time to put his mark on cinema history in such a short time though, and Zero for Conduct is along with L'Atalante recognised as being some of the best films of the 1930s

Jean Vigo was one of the most beloved filmmakers of the early sound years, but unfortunately his career was way too short with only two full feature films. Vigo suffered from poor health from a very young age and

      • of the best films of the 1930s. Zero for Conduct is a comedy a about a class of young boy students who decide to revolt against their teacher’s terror and play tricks on them. Jean Vigo tells his story
with so much warmth and sympathy with poetic images and a good sense of humor that I can do nothing but love this piece. I feel it is a little bit too short though, I would have liked to see more.
