Daddy’s Little Girls is one of those “feel-good” films starring a predominantly all-black cast. Starring Gabrielle Union and British-born Idris Elba, the story revolves around a single-father ex-con, limo driver who happens to fall for a successful young lawyer (Union).

His fight to remain in his three

little girls’ lives while attempting to convince his new flame that he’s worthy of her love are what the plot consists of.

It’s an entertaining film taking place (and filmed) in Atlanta.

The only criticisms I have of this movie is that the comedy and dialogue ...

      • can sometimes seem a little forced.

This probably would have been a better movie with different writers.

Gabrielle’s character seems a little stodgy and artificial.

I think the story would have been better with an actress who was a bit more gritty.

        Also, the

“girlfriends” (ironically consisting of real “Girlfriends” star Tracee Ellis Ross) was a bit over the top.

Typical girlfriends of that age don’t normally take such a strong stance where it regards the type of men their friends date.

Other than these things, the movie was actually fairly decent.
