Czech comedy with a lot of seriousness to it from the 80s. The film was directed by a man called Jiri Menzel, and involves a number of different people in a small Czech village.

It really has no real point to it, only everyday events are depicted, and that is why the humor is so important. Jiri Menzel does make his characters appear very much as real people,

      • and even if some scenes seem a bit goofy to me, this is a very lovable film about regular human beings. It has some similarities with Emir Kusturica’s films, so it’s fair to assume
he was inspired by Menzel to some extent. I enjoyed My little village very much. It’s not to heavy or hard to watch, but manages to tell the truth about human nature in a most interesting way.
