  • It does go through a lot of ink, though, but I think they all do

I have gone through many printers in my day. They all just seem so cheaply made. I was skeptical about this one, too. I was concerned that with the extra options of scan and copy, that would mean things would go wrong.

      But so far,

so good. I have had the HP PSC 1500 All-in-one Series Printer Scanner Copier for about 2 years. I use it a lot, though I do not use the scan/copy option too often.

I use it mainly for printing paper and pictures. It does ...

      • a great job on pictures. It even has the picture bridge where I can hook my camera directly to the printer and print without a computer. It does go through a lot of ink, though, but I think they all do.

I have had some issues with

the printer not recognizing the paper, then acting like it’s out of paper. When this happens I have to play with the paper and push a retry button, which is the first button on the top of the printer and a bit out of reach.

Overall this has been a good printer/copier/scanner.

It’s almost impossible to provide a solution since you didn’t list the error message that you are receiving. There are tons of error messages that are related to this printer. However, if there aren’t any hardware problems, you can usually clear out error messages by unplugging the printer for about five seconds.

This problem generally happens when there is an issue with driver. You should uninstall the driver that is there in your computer. Now, get latest updated driver for your model from the official website of HP and install that. Connect your printer and start printing. It should working now.

This test page is actually a part of HP’s alignment process that has to be done. You have to finish the process in order for it to stop. When the test page prints, place it face down onto the scanner. Press the scan button. Be sure that the page scans. This will then fix the issue.

That isn’t as such a big problem. Following simple steps should guide you to keep off problems like this:

Click Start and then go to Control Panel. Click Devices and Printers.
Double-click on your HP printer icon to open the print queue. Click on the listing for your test page. Click Cancel to stop your printer from completing that particular job. Repeat this step until all of the test pages have been canceled.

Printer will not print any internet related documents. Also prints test page every time unit is powered up.

The test page is actually related to the alignment process not being completed. It’s possible that it may be related to not being able to print certain documents as well. When the test page prints, place it face down onto the scanner. Press the scan button. Once the page scans, it should fix the issue.

This is only a portion of the alignment that has to be done on the printer. The process has to be completed in order to stop it from happening. The next time the test page prints out, place it face down onto the scanner. Press the scan button. This will then finish the alignment process and there will be no more test pages.

If you are referring to the issue with the test page constantly printing, you will have to scan the test page to disable this. Next time the page prints, place the test page on the scanner, and press scan. This finishes the testing process and it should stop.

    Galega says :

Actually that is the problem of test pages getting printed again and again. Actually, this is an issue with the settings and once you will understand it, you can easily tackle it in future.

Click Start and then go to Control Panel. Click Devices and Printers.

Double-click on your HP printer icon to open the print queue. Click on the listing for your test page.

Click Cancel to stop your printer from completing that particular job. Repeat this step until all of the test pages have been canceled.

My question is the same as Tim`s 2 . How do I get the test page to stop printing every time I turn the printer on? Wasting a lot of ink. Teresa

    Jules Li says :

Once the test page prints, place it on the scanner and press the scanner button. Be sure to place it face down. After scanning it should stop printing. However, if it doesn’t you are able to disable the alignment from within the printer properties. Access the printer settings from the control panel.

    Jules Li says :

You actually have to scan the test page after it prints. Be sure to place the page face down onto the scanner. Press the scan button on the printer. Be sure to confirm that the scan takes place. Once it’s done it should stop.

    Galega says :

When you click NEW Scan on your computer, it should ideally scan. There is no way this printer will start printing paper which has been kept for scanning. IF that is happening, that means an error. To start with, update your printer driver. Uninstall and install the latest and updated one from the official website of HP.
