  • Of course, I would recommend by level because then you know everyone is at your level so it is almost 'equal' in a sense because you are comparing in comparison to everyone

This is usually held at the Living Arts Center in Ontario. Every year, music students (I competed in the piano sector) compete, and you can enter the category that you want or will benefit you the most.

The categories are by age or by level.

I won second in that category because a lot of people, though at your level,

      • don’t exactly play up to standard.

However if you enter the age level, it might be tricky because a lot of people are fast learners; you might be in grade 3 but they might be in grade 6! This makes things a lot harder and you

have to have a lot of skills to compete against them.

The venue is pretty nice; the seats are those comfy cushiony kind and just gives off a feeling of grandeur.

However, the stage kind of is made poorly and looks substandard in comparison to its surroundings.
