“A Visit to a Mosque in America” (ASIN B00009M76K) is a short, family oriented tour of the mosque near Cincinnati, Ohio. The DVD follows a tour guide throughout the mosque, the community center, the Academy and the Cultural Center to learn about how

      Muslims worship.

Each of these areas relates to one area in Muslim life: worship, family and social life, education and Islam in America.

“A Visit to a Mosque in America” was first published in 2002 and appears to be a reaction to the 2001 ...

      • 9-11 bombings.

The DVD feels a little defensive and presents an idyllic picture of Islamic life.

Despite this slant the DVD provides useful information and is worth a look for anyone interested in Islam and in the Muslim lifestyle.

        Although less immediate today than

in 2002, the message that Muslims are not all extremists interested in destroying the United States does bear repeating.

At sixty minutes, including the bonus feature “The Art of the Mosque” this DVD is well worth viewing.

        I give it a good solid B or 85%.
