The first episodes of the Buck Rogers television series feature two top notch guest stars: Roddy McDowell in a minor role and Jack Palance in an OUTRAGEOUSLY campy appearance as a villain who

has the power of mind control and is selling people into intergalactic slavery. This episode drags mercilessly and the reason it doesn’t work is that it invests all its time in trying to ...

      • tell a serious story as opposed to being fun. Yes, there is a lot of running, jumping and fighting, but it is ploddingly brought down by way too much talking. The comic book
nature of the series didn’t always gel well with melodrama and that is the primary quirk of this particular episode. Luckily, the series would get on track with more fun adventures in future episodes
