Samurai Rebellion is a film by another japanese director called Masaki Kobayashi. His most famous film is Harakiri, and with Samurai Rebellion he works in the same “genre” focusing on the lives of Samurai Warriors.

We have to rivaling samurai clans

who both want to govern the territory they live in.

Ultimately, this ends up in a violent battle between the clans and won winner stands alone.

Kobayashi here uses some of the same tecniques Kurosawa did with his early samurai films,

      • but there are some differences.

Kobayashi puts more of his focus on between two people.

Kurosawa worked more with a poetic way of telling a storyline.

The acting is brilliant with stars Toshiro Mifune and my own personal favorite Tatsuya Nakadai

at the top of their abalities.

The film feels a bit slow to begin with, but as the story progresses everything is getting more and more intense.

It ends in the most intense way I have ever seen in a film.

        Incredible.
