The experimental japanese director Hiroshi Teshigahara came out with this interesting study of human sacrifice in the year of 1965. It is about a man who’s face has been entirely burnt off in

      an accident.

People treat him like some sort of monster and can’t really see what’s behind the damage.

He decides to find a doctor who can help him.

      With sci-fi technology, a “borrows” ...

      • a mask from another man.

It looks absolutely genuine, and from that on people treat him like a normal person again.

A very interesting way of showing how easily we are corrupted by

how people look, and not what they actually are as human beings.

Beautiful black and white cinematography and innovative camera tecnique makes The Face of Another one of the best japanese movies of the 60s.
