The episode “Time Again & World” is from right in the middle of the show’s second season. While this isn’t one of the Sliders better efforts, it is definitely much better than most of what is going to come in Season 3, when the whole series kind of goes to pot. There’s a bit

of humor here (in a world where J. Edgar Hoover pretty much took control and now all the cops where skirts do to Hoover’s supposed transvestism, for example), but the premise of running into two almost identical earths (but where time is just a bit behind in one than the other? I though there ...

      • was no time travel?) isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. And all the huffing and puffing about the Constitution was already done way back in season one in the Prince of Wails, wasn’t it?

Despite any possible interest in the premise for what it is, this episode really falters in the fact that

it falls into one of Sliders favorite plot devices: they have in their hands a special disk and they have to get it to the right people to save the world. This is the basic plotline of like, half of the episodes of Sliders and it kind of gets old after a while. But oh well.
