The premise of this episode is pretty much laid out in the title: The Devil and a Guy Named Webster. It is a fusion of the classic tale: The Devil and Daniel Webster, but instead of

the famous American orator we get Emmanuel Lewis (best known as star of Webster) as our defense attorney against the Devil. I find the Devil as portrayed here to be rather uninspired, especially compared to his appearance ...

      • on other shows (like South Park). Here he basically serves to make references to a lot of movie stars, particularly Anthony Hopkins and Jack Nicholson. Webster himself is pretty fun, though, and his guest appearance
is the highlight of this episode. One has to wonder how much he got paid, though, since we know he doesn’t work for scale. What could have been a pretty dull episode is saved by his appearance.
