Originality is not one of the strong suits of the minds behind Tripping the Rift. The show is on the whole of it nothing more than a fairly uninspired riff on everything that has come to be considered part of science fiction

over the last 100 or so years, without the wit or intelligence of, say, Futurama, or the complete in your face and ready to offend anyone and anything attitude of South Park. Its unoriginality is greatly showcased here in what is nothing more ...

      • than a rip-off of the Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain and a million other similar stories. Its one unique input is to make its two look-a-likes (who happen to be the twin brothers Chode and Philbrick) almost exactly the same
in terms of character, prompting the nature vs. nurture debate that is the genesis of the episode’s title. Other than that the only real highlight of this episode is the showdown with Darph Bobo, who is always good for a laugh on this series.
