I am reviewing the Case of the Deadly Prophecy, a Sherlock Holmes episode from the boxed set, Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Series 39 Thrilling Episodes. This series was produced by Sheldon Reynolds and filmed in France in the fifties.

Ronald Howard, the son of actor Leslie Howard, stars as Sherlock Holmes, and Marion Crawford stars as Watson.

      This

episode finds Holmes and Watson at a boarding school.

The school has been experiencing deaths of faculty members, and they believe it is the work of one of their own kids.

Apparently one child keeps writing the names of certain faculty members on the steps of a church nearby, and shortly after those people in question end up ...

      • dead.

After investigating, Holmes realizes that one of the boys is sleep walking, and under the control of a person inside the school.

This is a good episode, except for the acting of the supporting cast.

Nothing new there, right? It was interesting to see a different setting besides Baker Street in this episode.

        I thought it

was also interesting to add some children to the scene, as children are always entertaining in film.

This episode isn’t nail biting or anything, but it is definitely mysterious.

I would recommend this episode to any Sherlock Holmes fan.

Although it is far from the best episode on this set, it is definitely one worth watching.
