I am reviewing the Case of the Reluctant Carpenter, a Sherlock Holmes episode from the boxed set, Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Series 39 Thrilling Episodes. This series was produced by Sheldon Reynolds and filmed in France in the fifties.

Ronald Howard, the son of actor Leslie Howard, stars as Sherlock Holmes, and Marion Crawford stars as Watson.

      This

case revolves around an arsonist, who burns down an important building, and then threatens to burn others down unless he receives money.

Holmes is attracted to the case, and begins his investigation by searching through the remains of the building in question.

When Lestrade enters Baker Street to find it empty, he tries to use some of Holmes ...

      • methods to solve the case.

The arsonist enters and threatens that he will set off explosives in London later that evening, and with Holmes’ and Watson’s help, the trio set off to save London from this terrorizer.

        I like this episode.

It is full of drama, suspense, humor, and mystery.

Even though these episodes are only about

twenty minutes in length, you still get thorough enjoyment with them.

This is a well-acted episode, except on the part of the arsonist of course.

It was hilarious at watching Lestrade shift through some of Holmes things, trying to apply some of Holmes methods to things to help him solve the case.

The poor inspector is clearly helpless.
