I am reviewing The Case of the Perfect Husband, a Sherlock Holmes episode from the boxed set, Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Series 39 Thrilling Episodes. This series was produced by Sheldon Reynolds and filmed in France in the fifties.

Ronald Howard, the son of actor Leslie Howard, stars as Sherlock Holmes, and Marion Crawford stars

      as Watson.

In this episode, a woman goes to Scotland Yard to report that her husband indicated that he was going to kill her the next day at 9 PM, and told her that he had killed eight times before.

WHen Lestrade doesn’t believe her, she goes to Sherlock Holmes for help.

      It seems apparent ...

      • at first that the young woman is mistaken, as the husband in question shows up and tells her that she has been hallucinating, and that he means her no harm.

        Holmes sees through this however.

Just before it is too late, he is able to save the young woman from certain death, and in the mean time

also provides Lestrade with the bodies of eight other women, buried within the crazy man’s own house!

        THis episode is just okay.

It is nothing spectacular, and the supporting cast acting is terrible.

If you’re a Sherlock fan, then you probably can’t stand to miss a single episode, but otherwise, I’d skip this one.

        It really isn’t very good.
