I am reviewing The Case of the Baker Street Bachelors, a Sherlock Holmes episode from the boxed set, Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Series 39 Thrilling Episodes. This series was produced by Sheldon Reynolds and filmed in France in the fifties.

Ronald Howard, the son of actor Leslie Howard, stars as Sherlock Holmes, and

      Marion Crawford stars as Watson.

The Case of the Baker Street Bachelors finds our two heroes in a completely different situation.

Holmes and Watson join in on a dating service, and find themselves in the grasps of the two women Holmes suspected in a crime.

In the end, Holmes and Watson are ...

      • brought into a case that promises intrigue and betrayal.

        This episode is quite humorous.

For once, it is hilarious to see Watson fumbling around with a woman, clearly not comfortable with their whole situation.

He mumbles, blushes, and doesn’t seem to know the slightest bit as to what Holmes is up to, who

        seems infatuated with his girl.

It is also funny to see Holmes in that situation.

Again, this is not Doyle’s style, and I imagine he would probably roll in his grave if he saw some of these episodes, but it is still very funny and enjoyable to watch.

        I highly recommend it.
