I am reviewing The Master Blackmailer, a Sherlock Holmes movie produced by Granada television in the 1990s. It stars Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes and Edward Hardwicke as Dr.

      Watson.

In this movie, Holmes pits his powers against a master blackmailer, who

has been blackmailing people for fortunes of dollars.

Holmes is hired by a woman named Lady Brackenwell to retrieve letters that Milverton is using to blackmail her.

When he is unable to do so, Holmes goes undercover as a plummer for ...

      • the Milverton household, and gains the love of a housemaid.

The result is shocking indeed, as it leaves us to wonder whether Sherlock Holmes’ rough exterior has been broken.

In the very end, he requests that Watson “bury this case deep in your

        pocket.

” This movie is of the better ones made by Granada.

It sticks to the novel very well, and everyone acts phenomenally.

It is very interesting to see Holmes have a love interest.

I recommend this movie to any Sherlock Holmes fan.
