I am reviewing The Last Vampyre, a Sherlock Holmes movie produced by Granada television in the 1990s. It stars Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes and Edward Hardwicke as Dr.

      Watson.

If you like Science Fiction, then this movie will appeal to

      you.

In this movie, Holmes is hired to investigate the strange happenings of the town of Lamberley, whose town has seemed to have gone downhill since the arrival of a man named Stockton, who is said to be a vampire.

      What ensues ...

      • is quite interesting, but a bit silly.

We match Sherlock Holmes’ supreme deducting powers against the eerie vampire, Stockton.

The question remains: is he or is he not a vampire? At two hours, this movie is drawn out and ridiculous.

        Granted, it

is ineresting to see such a different story line, but it borders on crazy and silly as it progresses.

This does not feel like a genuine Sherlock Holmes tale at all.

I will say that this movie is interesting, but I don’t highly recommend it.
