I am reviewing The Blue Carbunkle, a Sherlock Holmes adventure from the boxed set, The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes, produced in 1983 by Granada television. It is Christmas time in this episode, and everyone is in the holiday spirit, that is until a precious blue diamond is stolen, and an innocent man

is put behind bars for it.

The whole thing seems “goosey” as House is visited by a policeman who brings him a goose one morning, claiming to have picked it up off the street, after he had chased down some ruffians picking on a poor fellow, who also fled.

      Much ...

      • to their surprise, the cop ends up finding the very missing blue diamon, the blue carbunkle! It’s great fun as Holmes investigates, and closes down upon the man who was the actual thief.

All is well in the end.

        This is a wonderful episode.

Not only does it fill you with the

Christmas spirit, but it promises great fun as well! The scene with Watson and Holmes pretending to have bet on some birds is hilarious.

        You cannot miss this episode.

It is filled with adventure, excitement, drama, and suspense! Jeremy Brett and David Burke deliver top of the notch performances.

Their chemistry on screen is incredible.
