      Anthony Hopkins appears to be one of those actors who do not take just any role, he will not play anything shallow, uninteresting, insignificant. Or perhaps it is his talent that turns every role into

      a meaningful one? Anyway, I have never seen him under-perform, or play anything not worthy of serious thought.

      If Anthony Hopkins is in a movie, you can usually count on it being good.

      There are too many excellent roles done by this actor to list here.

      One of my favorites is Pierre in the 1972 version of “War and Peace;” those who have read the novel will agree that Hopkins ...

      creates a perfect, recognizable Pierre - a little clumsy and funny-looking, kind-hearted, not sure of his place in life.

      Strangely, it is one of his lesser known parts.

      Another personal favorite is the role of

      C.

      S.

      Lewis in “Shadowlands,” I just love that movie, and Hopkins’s performance in it is so intense, thoughtful, and touching.
